William Joseph Herwig

November 14, 1925 ~ April 3, 2018 (age 92)

Resident of Sunnyvale, CA and Glencoe, CA

Bill Herwig passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Belmont Village in
Sunnyvale at the age of 92. He was born on November 14, 1925 in San Jose, California
to William and Marie Herwig, and grew up on a ranch in Sunnyvale. Bill was proud to
have served in the Navy in World War II. On March 29, 1958 he married Alberta Curran
in Sunnyvale, and was married for 58 years. In retirement, Bill and Alberta moved to
Glencoe, California where Bill and his cousin Brad Grimm built their retirement home.
Bill was able to enjoy his hobbies of gardening, lapidary, fishing, and traveling to Tahoe.
In 2010, Bill and Alberta moved back to Sunnyvale.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Joanne Boldt (Jeff); two grandchildren Jonathan and
Alyssa Boldt; brother and sister in law Al and Yvonne Herwig; sister Marie Scott; and
many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Alberta. Bill was
devoted to his family and was a loving husband. He will be deeply missed.
Bill’s family is grateful to the staff at Belmont Village in Sunnyvale for their kindness
and caring.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be make in Bill’s name to the Employee Appreciation
Fund at Belmont Village in Sunnyvale, 1039 East El Camino Real, Sunnyvale, CA
