Virginia (Ginny) Francis O’Rorke, born to Walter and Ellen (Armstrong) Moll in Mt. Pulaski, IL, passed away March 30, 2018 at the age of 94 at the Saratoga Retirement Community. She was a resident of Saratoga, CA, for more than 53 years.
   Virginia met the love of her life, Eugene (Gene) O’Rorke, where they both worked at a munitions plant in Kankakee, IL, during WWII. They were married in 1944 and transferred to Richland, WA, where they worked on the Manhattan Project. During their 14 years in Richland they made many lifelong friendships and had four children and a fifth child after they moved to Saratoga, CA in 1958.
   An avid bridge player, golfer, walker, Virginia also loved to travel entertain, shop, redecorate, gourmet cook and do volunteer work for others at Sacred Heart Church, Odd Fellows Home and Meals on Wheels. She will most be remembered for the excellent caring mother and grandmother that she was. Family was always number one.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Eugene, who passed away in 1996 and her son Owen in 1993. She is survived by her four children Patrick O’Rorke, Julette (Rick) Uebner, Ellen (Tom) Calcaterra, and Timothy O’Rorke, her six grandchildren Kevin (Kate) O’Rorke, Brian O’Rorke, Alison (Brandyn) Coleman, Ryan (Katie) Uebner, Katie (Justin) Pearson, Brendan O’Rorke, and seven great-grandchildren, Evey, Addy, Mattie, Shaun, Andrew, Will, and Stella.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, April 7th at 1:30 PM at Sacred Heart Church in Saratoga, followed by a reception at Barnes Hall at the Saratoga Retirement Community. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Sacred Heart Parrish in Saratoga. The family wishes to especially thank, caregivers Fely and Angie for their devoted care of their mother. “To live in the hearts of others is never to die.”
