Suzie Peterson, age 73, went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 28, 2020 after a long illness.
Suzie was born to Alex and Marianne Musaelian in Wuerzburg, Germany on December 12, 1946. Her family immigrated to the United States in 1951, and she grew up in Fresno, California. She graduated from San Joaquin Memorial High School and Federico’s Beauty College. Suzie worked as a hairdresser for many years. She married Samir Hasbany and they relocated to San Jose, where she eventually owned her own hair salon in Cupertino. They had three children; Nicole, Paul and Monique. Their marriage ended in 1994 and she married Douglas Peterson of San Jose. Suzie started a second career as a foodservice director with Marriott Management Services (now Sodexo Corp.) and retired in 2001. Suzie loved to work in her garden and loved flowers and nature, especially birds. Another of her lifelong passions was music in all forms, and she loved to listen to music of the 1950s and sing in the church choir. The light of Jesus shown through her face and she was very compassionate, generous and giving to her family and to all those she knew. She was very active in her church and headed up many committees over the years. Her larger-than-life personality will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband Douglas; her children Nicole (and Rick) Camarillo, Paul Hasbany, and Monique (and James) Easley, all of San Jose, CA; her grandchildren Tyler, Madison, Joseph, Jordyn and Leila; one sister Rose Musaelian of San Jose; a brother Andrew (and Mary) Musaelian of San Diego; and 4 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Samir Hasbany, her sister Marliese Jamison and her parents Alex and Marianne Musaelian.
A memorial service for Suzie will be held at a future date. Interment at Los Gatos Memorial Park was private.
Suzie loved flowers, especially freesia and sweet peas, and floral tributes are welcome.
