Stanley Mussynski passed away at home surrounded by his loved ones on the morning of July 11, 2021 at the age of 77 after battling cancer. Stan was born in Plains Township, Pennsylvania on January 15, 1944 to the late Isabel and Watson Mussynski.
After graduating from Plains Memorial High School in 1961, Stan joined the United States Air Force and was stationed at Almaden Air Force Station on Mount Umunhum in Santa Clara County, California. After being honorably discharged from the military, Stan then pursued a long, successful career in sales spanning well over 40 years.
Stan was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, friend, and an avid golfer. He loved sports; competitive by nature, he was an athlete growing up. He rooted hard for his favorite teams, the Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Dodgers. After retiring, he gave back by volunteering his time and energy to many organizations. He served as a marshal at the Santa Clara Golf and Tennis Club and also at Summitpointe Golf Club. He was also involved with the church, serving many roles throughout the years. He was active with the St. Vincent de Paul Society, the St. Lawrence Men’s Group & Alpha. He was especially proud to serve as the treasurer of the Guadalupe Society at St. Lawrence.
Stan is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Jackie; his sons Eric (Grace) and Jason; his granddaughters, Amanda, Alyssa, and Alanna; and best walking companion, Marley. He is predeceased by his parents and his sister, Antoinette Stec.
A memorial service is to be held at St. Lawrence the Martyr Catholic Parish in Santa Clara on Wednesday, August 4th at 10:00 a.m. A reception will follow at 12:00 p.m. at Sunken Gardens Golf Course in Sunnyvale.
