Sandie, affectionately named Granny Goose by her grandkids, lived for her friends and family. Connecting with loved ones on a daily basis brought her immense joy. During her 40+ years of marriage to her beloved husband, Bob, she was selflessly devoted to caring for him and their four children. Through raising their children, traveling, and gathering with their many friends, Bob and Sandie lived a happy and full life. In her retirement years, Sandie spent much of her time visiting Portland, Chicago, and Sacramento helping care for and love on her grands. Her children, grandchildren, and fur grandbabies were her pride and joy.
As we gather during this Christmas season, we are reminded of how much our Goose loved bringing the whole family together, sharing her Swedish heritage, and filling our bellies with her delicious cinnamon rolls. It is hard to imagine life without her, but through her memory and how she loved us, we will carry her spirit with us until we meet with her again.
Thank you to all of you, whom Sandie held so dear, for your love and support during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated in her honor to the Stanford Division of Hematology. Gifts to the Division of Hematology support research for Amyloidosis which Sandie was diagnosed with in 2019. Her Stanford healthcare team was not only a formidable ally in helping her fight her disease, but they also showed genuine compassion. Knowing she was under their care brought Sandie much peace and comfort.
