Rose Marie McSwiggin passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 12, 2021.
Rose Marie was born on October 31,1935 in Reno, Nevada where she attended McKinley Park School and Reno High School. She was the oldest of two children born to Sam and Marie Saibini. Rose Marie is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Robert McSwiggin, devoted children Carrie (Jim) Busick of Watsonville, Darrell (Lisa) Plummer of Reno, Dan Plummer of Davenport, Lisa (Greg) Lopes of Los Gatos and stepchildren Bob McSwiggin Jr. of San Jose and Rich McSwiggin of Reno: 10 grandchildren (Sam Busick, Haley Busick, Grant Plummer, Dalton Plummer, Pierce Plummer, Siena Plummer, Robert McSwiggin III, Conor McSwiggin, Shelby McSwiggin and Hayden McSwiggin). She is also survived by her sister Madolyn Pardini of Carson City and a lot of family who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her loving parents and her first husband, Hal Plummer.
Rose Marie worked outside the home at Pacific Bell for 10 years and volunteered for over 29 years at Happy Dragon Thrift Shop in Los Gatos as well as at her church, St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She was a great cook and consummate hostess who prepared amazing meals for her family and friends and always had your favorite dish on her table. Rose Marie loved baking cookies and had a full cookie jar of homemade treats to share with others. She was a social butterfly with multiple coffee groups she enjoyed every morning. Rose Marie was often out shopping for the perfect gifts for her loved ones. Her hobbies included gardening, playing bridge with friends and attending grandchildren’s events over the years. She cherished calls from her family and friends and hated goodbyes. Rose Marie loved traveling with Bob for decades and enjoyed many international adventures with her sweetie. Rose Marie was an amazing daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her faith was strong and never wavered.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 1 pm on January 29, 2022 at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church at 219 Bean Avenue in Los Gatos. A celebration of life will be held immediately following. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Happy Dragon Thrift Shop or St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church both in Los Gatos.
