Ronald Jay Temple

September 16, 1945 ~ May 27, 2019 (age 73)

Surrounded by his family, Ronald Jay Temple, 73, of Campbell, CA passed away on May 27, 2019 after fighting his courageous battle against leukemia.

He was a devoted husband and survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Kathleen Temple, the best Dad to his children and their spouses: Eric (and Christopher) Temple-Morris of Portland, OR; Kevin (and Michelle) Temple of Campbell, CA; Ryan (and Susan) Temple of El Dorado Hills, CA; and was “Pop” to five grandchildren: Justin, Riley, Nate, Zach, and Hailey. He will be dearly missed by all his immediate and extended family, and all of his friends.

Ron was born on September 16, 1945 in Rawlins, Wyoming, the son of Alta and Harold Temple. After graduating from San Jose State, he had a 40+ year career in customer service that included long tenures at both National Semiconductor and Linear Technology.

He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, loved physical activities including swimming and staying in shape at the gym, taking annual vacations to Lake Tahoe and Maui, and being involved in the lives of his children and grandchildren.

Always leading by example, he was caring, kind, faithful, and hard-working, all with humor, and was often described as being a “all-around good guy”. Ron often touched many with these characteristics by shaping and influencing the lives of all who he came in contact with. His love, words, and memories will be forever cherished.

The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the dedicated staff of El Camino Health, Stanford Medical, and Mission Hospice who all were compassionate to Ron during his fight with cancer.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date to take place in July for all to remember Ron.

To honor his legacy, there is a blood drive at Stanford Blood Center in Campbell on Saturday, June 1 from 10:00am – 3:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, Donations may be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at https://www.lls.org/ways-to-donate
