Robert, passed away peacefully on September 2, at his home in Los Gatos at the age of 86. He is survived by his beloved wife Patricia Micchelli (Olohan), his 4 children and their spouses, Robert (Helen) Micchelli, Susan (Frank) Orsini, Nancy (Peter) Orvell and Gary (Natalia) Micchelli; Grandchildren Alexander and,Christopher Micchelli, Andrew (Emily),and Christopher Orsini, Katie, Shaun and Emily Orvell, and Alex and,Hannah Micchelli. His sisters in- law and brother, Dolores Olohan, Jane Micchelli, Patricia and Charles Micchelli.and many nieces, nephews and friends in New Jersey and California.
Robert was born on December 08, 1931 in Newark N.J. he was predeceased by his parents Salvatore and Mary (Vetrini) Micchelli, and his brothers Albert and Richard.
Robert was proud to serve, his country, in the Army during the Korean War as an airplane mechanic. Robert went to work for his father in his plumbing business and later worked as a pipe fitter- millwright and retired after 31years from Hoffman La Roche Pharmaceutical company in Nutley, NJ.
Robert and Patricia raised their family in Wayne, N.J. After retiring they moved to Ocean County NJ. Robert enjoyed working with wood and made many pieces of furniture for his wife, as a volunteer he built a puppet theatre for his children’s elementary school in Wayne, wood crafts for the Lavallette elementary school children and an entertainment center for the clubhouse at Lakeridge Community in Toms River, NJ as well as many duck planters that he enjoyed building to give away to family and friends.
Robert and Patricia purchased a home in Lavallette NJ and Robert set out to make their summer home the seashore cottage of his wife’s dreams. He spent 20 happy summers there entertaining and hosting family and friends. Robert enjoyed helping his two sons in- law with many of their home projects as well.
Robert will be dearly missed by his devoted wife and children. His grandchildren will forever remember their Poppop and the stories he would tell. A sincere thank you to his caregivers Elizabeth and Raikhan, who worked tiredlessy to provide Bob with the best of respect, care and dignity.
