Bob was born in Erie, Pennsylvania in 1941 and in 1956, he and his family moved to Tucson, Arizona. He completed his 4 years of High School at Flowing Wells High, entered the University of Arizona, and graduated with a B. S. Degree in 1962. He then moved to San Jose to join his fiancé, who he had met at the U. of A. His family quickly followed him and he and Dolores Pesek married in 1963. Two years later he entered Creighton University’s Dental School and graduated in 1969. In July of that year, he entered the U. S. First Army MeDac Division as a Captain, serving at Fort Dix, New Jersey Dental Clinic for Military Dependents. Upon his Honorable discharge, he entered the university of California Med Center’s Orthodontic Program to obtain his Post-Doctoral training. Graduating in 1973, he opened his practice in Orthodontics in Gilroy, which later expanded to another office in Morgan Hill, where he loved his career. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed Skiing, Sport Fishing off the Kona Coast, Trap Shooting and Sporting Clays, Hunting, Golf, and sharing his time with his beloved hunting dogs. The last 13 years of his life were spent at the Terraces of Los Gatos Skilled Nursing Center, after a stroke suffered in 1999. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dolores; his brother, Gary Hawke, his sister-in-law, Marilyn Hawke; his sister-in-law Nadine Jacobson (sister of Dolores) and Dennis Jacobson, brother-in-law.
