Linda Patterson Mitchell passed away on Friday after a year-long fight against brain cancer. Her life was led by her deep love for family and friends, devoting herself to their well-being and happiness, which will always be treasured.
Linda was born in Palo Alto and graduated from St. Francis High. After graduating, she moved to Paris, France, to live with her grandparents while attending the American College of Paris. She spent many hours in French museums appreciating Byzantine to Impressionist art.
After working in HR for many years, Linda earned a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology at Santa Clara University before turning her attention to raising her greatly desired children, Tommy and Lauren.
Writing was one of Linda’s fortes, and she was one of the founding members of her book club starting in 2007 and read more than 150 books. Close to her heart were the beautiful woods above Saratoga. This was special to her as our father roamed those woods as a child, and she found comfort and solace in being surrounded by his memories and their beauty.
Linda is survived by her children Tommy and Lauren Mitchell and her siblings Kathy DiPrinzio, Barbara Patterson, and Chris Patterson.
Friends and family are invited to a graveside service on Thursday, March 24, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Madronia Cemetery 14766 Oak St. in Saratoga. Please RSVP to mlinehan50@gmail.com.
