Although her stomach cancer was resolved the side effects were too much for Louise's system. She passed away after one week at the Mission Hospice, which did a wonderful job of seeing to her comfort in her last days. Louise was born in Cotopaxi, Colorado on her family's trek to Idaho. She had a successful marriage of 66 years following meeting up with husband Peter during their first year at the U of I. After marriage in Homedale, ID she transferred to SJSU where she receive a BA Summa cum laude in Education in 1958. Following her husband's transfer to New York, she taught in the Endicott, NY elementary schools. Her daughter (Christine) and son (David) were born while living there in Up-State. She was a very kind, hardworking, and understanding mother and loving wife. Following Peter's transfer back to California, she took a very active role in supporting the town of Portola Valley's library, at one time serving as President of its volunteer association. Louise was a voracious reader, reading 2-3 books per week.
She is survived by Christine, David, Peter, and her ever loving dog, Dundee. She will be sorely missed.
Friends and relatives are invited to her funeral service Wednesday Oct. 20 at 11:00am at Darling & Fischer Funeral Home 615 N. Santa Cruz Ave. Los Gatos.
