Joan Carol Millard Hutchings
Joan Carol Millard Hutchings, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister returned home to our Father in Heaven on Thursday, February 25, 2021, in Los Gatos, California. Joan was born to Ethel Mae Tombs and Richard Arthur Millard on March 20, 1939 in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. She grew up there with her brother Ricky. Joan was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She first came to learn about the church when she was 13 through a friend, Frannie Hatch. She was then baptized and became a dedicated member of the church. She met her husband, Paul Hutchings, while she was in high school. After graduating high school they were married in 1956. They moved from Pittsburgh to Utah, to Washington, Colorado and finally settled in Saratoga California in 1972. There she made many wonderful friends, and worked as a legal secretary, real estate agent and founded Diamond Fence Company, where she worked until she retired. Joan enjoyed golf, traveling with family and friends, playing cards, sewing, cooking, investing in stocks, and enjoying spending time with her family. Joan had a passion for genealogy and worked tirelessly gathering names and even traveling to places to find and collect the history of her ancestors. Joan was an amazingly loving courageous and strong woman. She had an infectious smile and was loved by many. Joan Loved life and lived it with dignity and to the fullest. She was loved and cherished by her family and friends. She will be missed by many. Joan is survived by her Daughters, Sharon Gnam and Jenifer Stanley (Terry); Sons, Todd and Scott Hutchings; Brother, Richard Millard (Christina): Grandchildren, Melissa Smith, Rex Yates (Jennifer), Haley Burkhardt (Tim), Kyle Stanley (Madilyn), Megan Stanley, Abby Stanley; Emily Hutchings, Charlie Hutchings; and 7 great grandchildren.
