James (Jim) Christian D’Antona passed away on Tuesday, May 4th. Born in Massachusetts he moved to California in 1984 and attended San Jose schools. Jim had a passion for fishing and anything fish related. He loved fishing for bass on lakes Coyote and Calero; and enjoyed camping and fishing for trout at Virginia Lakes in Mono County. For many years Jim had a small business breeding and selling African Cichlids. Jim loved to barbecue and enjoyed smoking a good cigar while sitting on his back patio with his devoted dog Missy.
Jim most loved and cherished his family. He is survived by his beloved children: Salem of San Jose, Olivia of Saratoga and stepson Dacota of Hayward; his mother Joyce Noonan of San Jose; his father and stepmom James and Lynne D’Antona of Virginia, stepsister Joy Snow of Virginia, stepbrother Tim Mataya of Sacramento and stepbrother Richard Mataya, his wife Julie of Orange County and two nieces Briana and Kaitlyn Mataya. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his stepfather John Mataya. Jim was very much loved by his parents.
