Hazle Hastings Popper passed away peacefully on May 2, 2020 at her home in Salinas, Ca. at the age of 92.
Born in Wolfdale, PA in 1927, Hazle married WWII veteran Gus Popper in 1946 in Washington, PA. They settled in Akron, Ohio until their retirement in 1984 to San Jose, CA.
Hazle had a passion for traveling and was able to enjoy over 50 cruises. Numerous cruises to Alaska, her favorite.
With her birthday on the fourth of July, "Fourtha" would be the center of Independence Day festivities. For many years, her beloved great nephews Phil Farris, Mathew Farris, Chris Farris, (the late) John Farris, and Jeff Farris would host her massive red, white and blue celebrations in Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years and her sons Terry, and Timmy.
She is survived by her son Walter Popper Sr., daughter Candace Popper, grandchildren Walter Jr., Wendy, Cyndi, Chris, Katie and numerous great and great great grandchildren.
Interment will be with her late husband at Los Gatos Memorial Park 2255 Los Gatos-Almaden Rd. San Jose, CA
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations, made in her name, to the SPCA Monterey County.
