Glenn Edward Patton Jr.

July 18, 1925 ~ May 29, 2018 (age 92)

Glenn Edward Patton, Jr, age 92, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at his home in Saratoga, CA. 

Glenn was born on July 18, 1925 in Sioux Falls, SD to Glenn Edward Patton and Clarice Irene Patton (Revfem).  Glenn is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jahala Elaine Patton (Keys).  He is also survived by son Scott Patton, Great Falls, VA, daughter Janet Patton (David Van't Hof), Boise, ID, and son Douglas Patton (Maureen), San Jose, CA, and granddaughters Bryana Patton, SaraJayne Patton, CarrieAnne Patton, Janelle Van't Hof, Krista Van't Hof, Amelia Patton and Zoe Patton.  He is survived by his sister Doris Edwards and nieces Liz Ward (Edwards) and Katherine Edwards.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Thomas Henry Patton. 

Glenn graduated from Junction City High School in Junction City, OR in 1943.  He served two years in the Army Air Corp and then attended Oregon State University, graduating in 1951.  He met his wife in college and they married in 1952.  Several years after college they moved to the San Francisco bay area to raise their family.  After a 36 year career with IBM he owned a local pizza franchise for 16 years.  

Glenn considered himself to be a very fortunate person in experiencing the devotion as loving husband and father, having the opportunity to share new experiences with family and friends, and helping others through his past experiences and spirituality.  He enjoyed playing golf, line dancing and traveling, loved spending time with family - especially his seven granddaughters, and mentoring and influencing others through humility and humor.  He will be so very missed. 

A memorial service is scheduled for 10:30 am on Monday, June 4, 2018, in the Chapel of the Saratoga Federated Church, 20390 Park Place, Saratoga, CA 95070. Interment at the Madronia Cemetery, Saratoga, CA.
