Gary Gene Cayton

Gary passed away on Aug 20th, after a long battle with cancer, at home
surrounded by his loving family and friends. Gary graduated from Sequoia
High School, he went on to San Mateo College. In 1969 he graduated from
AI Somers Umpiring School. He Umpired Pro-ball in the minor leagues.
Gary followed his dream and had a career officiating Baseball and Football
on the West Coast. He also worked A.S.A., Softball National Tournament’s.
Gary retired from the USPS after 40 years of service in 1992. Gary
continued to work for another 25 years for Darling and Fischer Mortuaries
before his final retirement in 2019. Gary became a member of the Los
Gatos Lions Club in 1988, and served as president in 2000. Gary is
survived by his loving wife Monica, of 40 years, devoted children, John
Stratton (Tish), Jolie Higgins (James), Vanessa Battaglia, and Felicia
Dodge. Grandchildren Tyler (Tara), Russell, Larissa, Makenna and Mason,
Gary is proceeded by two granddaughter's Justine and Joelle, Great
grandchildren Connor and Liam, Nephews Mike and Mark. Friends and
Family are invited to Gary's Celebration of Life on Thursday, Sept. 7, 2023
at 11 :OO am, at Darling and Fischer Chapel of the Hills, 615 N. Santa Cruz
Ave., Los Gatos, CA.
