Ezio A. DiGiuseppe

September 21, 1929 ~ April 8, 2022 (age 92)

Ezio DiGiuseppe, devoted son of Concezio DiGiuseppe and Giovannina (Lattanzi) DiGiuseppe of Philadelphia, was born on September 21, 1929, in Tuckahoe, New York. He departed this world peacefully surrounded by family on April 8, 2022.

Ezio was a model of tenacity and humility. His family moved to Philadelphia in the 1930s where he graduated from the 90th class of Northeast High School of Philadelphia and received a full merit scholarship to attend college. Ezio graduated from the business school of Temple University in 1951. He was a member of Alpha Phi Delta fraternity. He was on the IF Council, the University Assembly, the Newman Club, and played basketball and baseball.

At a dance, he met the love of his life Anne Marie Green.

Ezio and Anne married in 1953 and Ezio began working as a purchasing agent.

In 1955, just as his first child was born, Ezio was drafted into Army Intelligence and sent to Salzburg Austria with Anne and the baby. While there, Ezio and Anne traveled by train to Abruzzo, Italy, and reestablished connection with the Italian relatives for the first time since Giovaninna departed in 1925--a connection that has flourished and lasts to this day.

In 1960, Ezio moved his family from Philadelphia to a brand-new township, Marlton, New Jersey.

In 1977, Ezio took a position with Ford Aerospace and enjoyed his new California lifestyle. He loved his new friends, mostly former Philadelphians, and enjoyed decades of close friendship.

In the 1995, Ezio managed portions of the Goes satellite project for Ford Aerospace and attended the launch at Cape Canaveral.

Golf was Ezio's favorite pastime. He played for over sixty years and retired to a home on the 13th fairway at the Villages’ golf course. He was a long-time member of SIRS and enjoyed his social connection with them.

Ezio was an opera afficionado from childhood. He first attended opera with this father Concezio. La Boheme was his first opera but Aida was his favorite. Luciano Pavarotti was his all-time favorite singer, and Ezio sang along to Turandot, Nessun dorma hours before he passed. He said "Bravo" when the aria concluded.

Ezio traveled the globe, from Israel, to Italy, to Hawaii, but always found time for daily mass. He was a devout Catholic and took comfort in God.

Ezio loved his dear friends at the Villages, from the Solera Social Club to the Italian Club where Ezio was the senior member.

In the final year and the final hours of his life, Ezio was lovingly cared for by Atu Yee whose kindness and humor helped Ezio when he could no longer live alone. Ezio's family will always be grateful to Atu for her care and kindness.

Ezio was a committed husband, father, son, and brother. He was supportive, generous, and loyal. He is survived his loving sisters-in-law and brother-in-law Janet and John Townsend, Jackie Mascuch and Gladys DiJoseph, his grateful children John and Clare DiJoseph, Andrew DiGiuseppe and Laura Coran, Ron and Diane DiGiuseppe, and Rick and Donna (DiGiuseppe) Matcovich. Ezio loved to hear about his blessed grandchildren Joanna and William Gehr, Patricia DiJoseph and Eric Peden, Theresa DiJoseph and Lindsay Jones, Stephen DiGiuseppe and Anjuli Ganguly, Jessica and Devin Reza, Danielle Hamilton, Denea and Cory Smith, Raymond DiGiuseppe, Jeremy Gillespie and Nolan and Wesley Matcovich, and his many greatgrandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Church in San Jose, California on Tuesday April 19, 2022.
Donations may be made in his honor to Catholic Charities.

May Ezio rest in peace. We will miss him and love him always. His spirit will continue in all of us.
