Edith Evelyn Stratton
Edith peacefully passed away in her sleep on Dec. 12th. She was 94 years old. She was born in Milton, Washington on October 4, 1923 to Swedish immigrant parents. She was an only child. She attended the University of Washington until, on a weekend pass, she married her high school sweetheart, Glenn A. Stratton in April 1945. Glenn stayed in the service and transferred from the Army Air Corp to the Air Force. When the war ended, they received their orders to move to Hawaii. Their first three years of marriage was spent in a tropical paradise which may have cemented their long relationship which lasted till Glenn’s death in November 1991.
Edith is survived by her two daughters, Sandra G. Woods and Shelley S. Stewart. She also has two grandsons, Travis and Graham Woods and 2 great grandchildren, Grant and William Woods.
She enjoyed golf into her early 80’s and her greatest joy was a great golf match or a winning game from the Forty-Niners.
She was always known for having a sweet disposition and will be missed by all who know her.
