Dean Edward Lindholm, Jr. passed away recently at 74 years old in San Jose, CA after a courageous battle with dementia. Dean was predeceased by his parents Dean and Velma Mae Lindholm of Portland, OR. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Cheryl (Newton) Lindholm, his brother Byron (Lory) Lindholm of Yuma, AZ, and sister Catherine Lindholm of Hillsboro, OR. After completing high school in Portland, OR, Dean received his BS degree from the University of the Pacific and followed by a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA. Dean started his business career with General Electric in Roanoke, VA before moving to California where he joined the semiconductor technology company KLA. Dean retired after a long and successful career, which included a five year assignment in Tokyo, Japan. Known affectionately as “Dino” to his wife and close friends, Dino was an avid golfer, bridge player, traveler, dancer, hiker, and Master Gardener, among his many interests. But more than these activities, Dino will be remembered as a nice, kind, generous person and friend, and a devoted husband to Cheryl. His passing leaves a large hole in the lives of many who will miss him dearly.
Celebrations of Dean’s life will be held in various locations over the next several months. Memorial Donations can be made in Dean’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
