Charles lived an admirable life with a strong faith and plenty of gratitude. He died peacefully at the age of 92 - going home to be with the Lord. Charles was proud of his life’s journey. He left his parents’ farm in North Carolina to enlist in the army. After that, he joined his brother in California to work at Bekins Van & Storage, where he met his wife, Norma. He eventually settled in San Jose where he lived for the last 60 years - raising a family, working as a deacon in his church, and running his drywall company until his retirement. He loved his wife, family, church, work, music, home, and Norma’s cooking. Charles took pleasure in helping others - trusting to a fault. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Norma Jeanne, his 8 children, 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and the numerous people whose lives he touched. Charles is preceded in death by his parents, 10 siblings, and his grandson. A private family service celebrating his life will be held at Los Gatos Memorial on February 13, 2021.
