Beverly Black Lewis passed away peacefully at the age of 95 in her home in San Jose, CA on January 5, 2023. Beverly was born on August 15, 1927 in Salt Lake City, UT, the second of two daughters of Ambrose Vincent and Vida LaVern Winget Black. She married Abram Harold Lewis, Jr. on November 8, 1949 and moved to San Jose from Utah in 1961, where she stayed in the same home the entire 62 years she lived in San Jose. Beverly was predeceased by her loving husband, Hal, her sister, Yvonne and her parents.
She and her husband Hal had six children; five daughters and a son. She graduated from the University of Utah and was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as well as being active in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She was compassionate and always anxiously engaged in serving others; be they family, friends, or the broader community. She loved gardening and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her six children: Anne (Tom), Jeanne, Connie (Steve), Mary (Mark), Bob (Cathy) and Laura (Dirk) as well as 19 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 3:00PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 1655 Noreen Dr, San Jose, CA 95124. Prior to the memorial gathering she will be privately interred at the Los Gatos Memorial Park beside her loving husband.
