We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Darling & Fischer Chapel of the Hills
Our beautiful Mother and Grandmother has gone on to her heavenly home...
She will be forever loved and missed.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Winfrey Horan and Emma Lopez. She was born in Malone, Texas and raised with 6 siblings in Waco. She came to California with her family at age 14. At age 18, while working at the Holland Creamery in San Jose, a handsome veteran walked in, laid eyes on the girl from Texas, and changed her life forever. She fell in love and married Alson Yeager. They made their life in Campbell, had four children, and a wonderful marriage for 70 years.
Betty was a selfless mother and devoted wife. She was well known for her welcoming hospitality and excellent home cooking. She was a natural caregiver who helped raise many children in her extended family. She was always helping neighbors on her street. She cared for one neighbor for 10 years, he ate breakfast and dinner with them every night and became a part of the family.
She pruned her roses, canned fruit, and sewed all of her daughter’s dresses while they were growing up. Her southern cooking was prize worthy; fried chicken, peach cobbler, and sweet tea were just some of the family favorites.
Betty is survived by her loving son, Stephen Yeager (Maureen) of Lincoln; Daughters Debra Anello (Richard Anello deceased); Lori LoBue (Samuel LoBue deceased) and Judy Yeager, all of Morgan Hill. Betty was blessed to have 10 Grandchildren: Mark Yeager (Donna), Jennifer DeHaro (Paul), Allison Vargas (Ryan), Alexis Anello, Katie McGhie (Zach), Daniel Anello (Angel), Natalie Salberg, Samuel LoBue II (Neusa), Brett Anello, and Spencer Salberg. She is also survived by 16 wonderful great grandchildren. Above all else, Betty loved her family. A lifelong member of the LDS church, Betty was always guided by her faith.
We would like to thank and honor Betty’s grandchildren who stepped up and cared for her through her last days. Also, special thanks to the wonderful, caring people of Bridge Hospice.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Betty’s life on Thursday, May 26th at Darling & Fischer Chapel of the Hills, 615 N. Santa Cruz Ave, Los Gatos, CA 95030. Funeral Services at 11 am. Burial to follow at Los Gatos Memorial Park. If desired, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
