Betty C. Honchock

Betty C. Honchock
August 4, 1923 to October 29, 2017

Resident of San Jose, California, formerly of Bethesda, Maryland.
But mention must also be made of beautiful Lost City, West Virginia where many wonderful family summers were spent with her sister, Virginia, and Virginia’s children Lee, Frank, Judy and Margaret.

Betty Honchock passed away on Sunday, October 29th, after a valiant battle with cancer.  She was 94.  She touched the lives of many people and brought a smile to all she met.

Betty was born in Washington, D.C. and attended school at Marjorie Webster College in Washington, D.C. after graduating from high school.  She married Gene Honchock in 1946.  Betty worked for such diverse companies as the B&O Railroad, an investment company where her best friend, Bea Lewis, also worked, and, finally, at Litton Bionetics where she was a secretary to top scientific researchers.  She retired from Litton, retaining so many of her friends there, from whom she heard regularly after she moved to California.

Betty is survived by two children, her son, Peter Honchock and daughter, Lynn Nelson.  In addition, she is survived by three grandchildren, who brought her special joy, Sadie Rose Currier Honchock, Mike Honchock and Geoffrey Nelson.  She was dearly loved by all and her generous, loving spirit will be missed.
