Tribute for Barbara Dionne | Darling & Fischer Chapel of the Hills

Barbara Dionne

March 31, 2018
Barbara Jean Dionne 12/09/1940 - 03/31/2018
Resident of Saratoga

Barbara joined her daughter, Nancy, in heaven on March 31, at 77. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Ron, her daughters, Sherry and her husband Walt Barnes and Vicki and her husband Dale Murphy, her grandson, Ronnie and sister, Pat. She was preceded in death by her parents, "Rusty" and Mildred, and brother, Johnny.

As a native of Santa Clara County, she spent her teenage summers picking prunes and cutting apricots. She graduated from Santa Clara High School. She married Ron at St. Claire's Church in 1958.

She was an amazing, accomplished mother who continually exceeded all expectations with all that she did in support of her family. She was the first to volunteer in all activities. Her many contributions included being PTA President at McCoy Elementary School, CCD teacher at St. Justin's Parish and Brownie and Girl Scout Leader.

As her daughters grew up, she began her successful 25 year career in the home health services industry. Her final role as Director of a nationwide Home Health Care Division was another example of her endless ability to achieve whatever she put her mind to.

In addition to being a wonderful wife and mother, she was a very loving, caring grandmother. Ronnie brought a new dimension of joy and happiness into her life.

She developed many talents over the years including being an excellent cook, seamstress, hostess, wedding planner and organizer and could multi-task with the best.

She was a very kind, gentle soul. Heaven just received an angel.

The viewing will be at Darling Fischer on Santa Cruz Ave in Los Gatos on Friday, April 6, from 4pm to 8pm. The funeral service will be at the same location Saturday the 7 at 9am with burial at Los Gatos Memorial PArk to follow.
