Al Miller

June 27, 1939 ~ May 27, 2018 (age 78)
Al Miller
Proud lifetime resident of San Jose
June 27, 1939 – May 27, 2018

Al Miller passed away May 27, 2018 in San Jose, California. He had faced heart and kidney issues for a number of years. He was a loving family man and an incredibly hard worker.

Al spent his entire life in San Jose, the city he loved. He was one of ten children of Kenneth and Doris Miller. He had five children and 13 grandchildren. He worked on appliances and cars for the entirety of his career. His favorite places in the world were his appliance/racecar shop and race car tracks. He would spend hours and hours hanging out at his shop with anyone who would stop by. He had an enormous heart and would give you the shirt off of his back if you needed it. He took care of countless stray animals, and he also “adopted” people who were down on their luck, taking care of them until they could get on their feet again. His passion was for racing cars, and his best days were those spent at race tracks with his family - especially watching one of his sons race. His racing family meant the world to him as well.

Al is survived by his lifelong companion Maureen Hinchberger of San Jose, his devoted children and their spouses/partners Robert & Kasey Miller of Gardnerville, Nevada, Ginny Miller & Matthew Walker of San Jose, Randy & Aimee Miller of San Jose, Dorie & Tom Byrd of Newburg, OR, and Sherri Maciel Ratliff of Antelope, California, his brother Kenneth Miller of San Jose, his sister Ann Barrett of Sacramento, California, and his grandchildren Mitch & Dalton Miller of Reno, Nevada, Juliana, Anthony & Mateo Banuelos of San Jose, Nathan & Tyler Miller of San Jose, Thomas & Leanne Byrd of Newburg, OR, and Justin, Brett, Zachary & Jacklyn Ratliff of Antelope, California.

Donations may be made in his honor to the American Heart Association or Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara County.
