Arvil Dale Hancock passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, May 22, 2022. He is together now in heaven with his mother Laura, his father Frank, brothers Leroy and Glen, and sisters Vera, Mary, Marge and Arlene. He is survived by his wife Annie, his sister Joan Brooks, and his sons Dan and Andy, daughter-in-law Kathleen, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was a loving son, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a successful businessman, with a long career in compensation insurance, where he ended up as a senior vice president.
Born on a farm in Jasper County, Indiana, he attended Rensselaer high school, where he was senior class president. He joined the U.S. Navy in February 1949, where he served until December 1952, stationed in San Diego, California. He first met his wife Annie Moss in December 1948, and they were married on September 3rd, 1950, when they were both 19 years old. They stayed married for 71 years.
He was a big fan of the San Francisco Giants baseball team, and the 49ers football team, and followed their games with great enthusiasm. He was also a member of the Masons, the Shriners, and the Scottish Rite. He was a dedicated family man and loved to spend time with all his relatives.
He was a devout Christian all his life.
