Anna Ruth Sheehan, a long-time resident of Saratoga, was born September 12, 1921, in the town of Crested Butte, Colorado to Martin and Anna Kuretich. Ann was the second youngest of nine children.
Ann met her husband, Howard Sheehan, on a blind date in Denver, Colorado during the war. They were blessed with a loving marriage of 31 years until the death of Howard in 1978.
Ann is survived by her children, Kathy McNiff, Mike Sheehan, Tricia Banahan and Teresa Trapani; grandchildren, Anne, Jennifer, Lauren, Matthew, Michael, Danielle and Kyle; great grandchildren, Ava and Andrew.
Ann was a long-time member of the Sacred Heart Altar Society, Young Ladies Institute, Beta Sigma Phi and Santa Clara University Catala Club. She loved being an active member in clubs that gave back to the community. Ann had a huge, generous heart and truly enjoyed the friendships and good works of these organizations.
Ann’s pride and joy was family. They were the light of her life, and she was the light of theirs. The family enjoyed countless holidays and vacations together. Road trips were the favorite. The memories are priceless.
Ann’s life was full, loved by family and friends. She loved crocheting, playing the piano and gardening. Ann was an incredible cook, and her family remembers all of the delicious meals they shared together in the family home.
Ann peacefully passed away in her Saratoga home with family by her side. She is now in heaven with her husband.
The entire extended family would like to recognize and are eternally grateful to Ann’s son Mike and her caregiver, Mely, for the outstanding, loving care they provided to Ann over the years.
