Alson Andrews Yeager passed away, peacefully, with his family
by his side. He will be forever missed by his wife of 70
years, and his large loving family. He was the Rock of his family.
Alson was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel A. and Viola E. Yeager.
He was a lifelong Campbell resident. He grew up an only child, on a Ranch
with apricot orchards, near the Winchester Property. He graduated
from Campbell Grammar School and Campbell High School, class of 1944.
He then served in the US Army Air Corps, in Texas and Japan.
After finishing his service, he returned home and met the love of his life,
Betty Jean Horan, at the Holland Creamery. They had a 70 year “true love”
story and continued to be the light of each other’s lives to the very end.
Alson started as a lineman, and then promoted to Engineer for the Pacific
Telephone Company. He retired after a 35-year career.
Al also ran a Civil Service Insurance Business for 30 years from a home office.
After retiring, he and Betty were able to take cruises, trips to Hawaii,
and Alaska. He worked hard, and had a full, happy life!
Alson is survived by his devoted wife, Betty; loving son, Stephen Yeager (Maureen) of Lincoln;
Daughters Debra Anello (Richard Anello deceased); Lori LoBue (Samuel LoBue deceased)
and Judy Yeager, all of Morgan Hill. Al was blessed to have 10 Grandchildren: Mark Yeager (Donna), Jennifer DeHaro (Paul), Allison Vargas (Ryan), Alexis Anello, Katie McGhie (Zach), Daniel Anello (Angel), Natalie Salberg, Samuel LoBue II (Neusa), Brett Anello and Spencer Salberg. Also, 13 great grandchildren, and 2 more on the way. Above all else, Al loved his family.
The family would like to especially thank Alson’s 2 loving caregivers, Fane and Fifi, without whom he could not have been kept at home. Also, special thanks to the wonderful, caring people of Bridge Hospice.
