Ali Yost passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon June 19, 2021
Ali was born in Poland. She married a Polish Army Cavalryman and had a child. Shortly after, her country was invaded, and war was declared on Poland. She became a widow and with her mother spent the next years in a labor camp, working in the potato fields. After World War II ended in Europe, she married an American Army Officer and immigrated to America with her young son. She found work in a factory and later as a housekeeper in San Jose, California. She remarried and had a second son. She loved shopping, needlepoint, crocheting, and gardening, especially roses. She loved rabbits and adored her little pet bunny.
Ali was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Helen Jakamiec, her husband Kashmir Urbanski, and their son Richard. She was also preceded in death by her bother Eugene, her husband Joseph Yost and her dear friend of over 30 years Edgar Jones. She is survived by her sister Miroslava Carlsen, her son and daughter-in-law Gordon and Joy Yost of Fremont, CA. She has six granddaughters, Lynn Molica, Laura Garcia, Arleen Carey, Christine Bastista, Josette Contreras and Cynthia Urbanski. Ali has 15 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren.
A private service is taking place July 8, 2021 at Los Gatos Memorial Park.
