Victor Manuel Medrano
Resident of San Jose
September 19, 1934 - June 22, 2017
Victor Manuel Medrano passed away peacefully in his sleep after a short battle with cancer. He was a generous 'big-hearted' man who was loved and well-respected.
Vic was born in El Paso, TX where he attended El Paso High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served on the U.S.S. Montague during the Korean War. After receiving an Honorable Discharge he worked as a warehouseman and got married and started his family. He moved his family to San Jose and stepped into a truck driver position for McKesson. Vic got involved with scouting and Little League baseball along with his sons. His love of sports and helping kids led him to coaching and becoming a Little League umpire for the Cambrian Little League.
Vic is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Maria (Lely) and his three sons, Arthur, Richard, and Gabriel; and grandchildren, Sharita and Justin Vosnick, Alicia Medrano and Melissa Medrano. He is also survived by his brother Jesse Medrano and his family of Colorado Springs, CO. His good nature will be missed by all who knew him.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation and rosary on Wednesday, July 5, 6-8pm at Chapel Of The Hills 615 N. Santa Cruz Ave. Los Gatos, and a life celebration church mass at 11am on Thursday July 6 at St. Christopher's, and a burial to follow at Los Gatos Memorial Park.
