Susan Cecilia Saso was born on October 5, 1940 to Frederick and Marjorie Andrews, in Chelsea, Massachusetts. As a Navy brat, she moved back & forth cross-country and spent many happy years, in Hawaii. Sue’s family settled in Santa Clara where she attended Santa Clara High School, Notre Dame Belmont and graduated from Notre Dame San Jose, in 1958.
Sue met the love of her life, Dick Saso, the brother of best friend, Kathy Bonasera, and married, in 1960. Sue and Dick had two sons, Richard and Michael. After raising her family, Sue returned to college, and received an AA in Art and Interior Design. Sue opened an Interior Design Business and sold her paintings at numerous art shows. In 1970, Sue visited Europe and was bitten by the travel bug. Sue loved to cruise, dance, explore and meet people of all cultures. Cabo San Lucas was Sue’s second home.
Sue is survived by her loving husband, Richard (Dick) Saso, sons Richard (Kristi) and Michael (Ali), and four grandchildren - Shelby, Andrew, Morgan and Michael, brothers, Fred Andrews (Sherrie), Richard Andrews (Barbara) and sisters, Valerie Whalen (Frank) and Marjorie Traverso.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 12th, 11a.m., at Bellarmine College Prep Chapel, 960 W. Hedding Street, San Jose CA., 95126. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cristo Rey San Jose, www.cristoreysj.org.
