Richard "Dick" Kramer, 82, of Saratoga and San Jose, CA, passed away at home surrounded by family on June 11, 2017.
Richard is survived by his wife of 54 years, Grace, their six children David, Christine, Barbara, MaryBeth, Richard and Robert, and many adoring grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. Richard was a loving father, husband, grandfather and caring friend to all.
Richard grew up in Pittsburg, PA and graduated from Carnegie Institute of Technology with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked in Silicon Valley for 30+ years until he retired. He enjoyed photography, the clarinet, camping and fishing, lots of post-retirement traveling and RVing with his wife, reading and TED talks.
Richard was a progressive Christian; inspiring and challenging all to do the good and right thing. He believed that science is real, love is love, black lives matter, no human is illegal and healthcare is a right.
Viewing will be from 11:00 until 12:30 PM at Darling-Fisher Chapel of the Hills in Los Gatos on Saturday, June 17, 2017. Followed by funeral services from 12:30 to 1:30. Richard will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery in San Jose.
