GEORGETOWN - Martha Annette Stebbins, 77, entered into eternal rest and into the arms of God on May 6, 2017 at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on May 20, 1939 to John E. McNeeley and Margaret M. White in Atlanta, Georgia. At the age of 21, she married the love of her life, Leonard L. Stebbins in Pensacola, Florida. While in the Navy, they lived in Hawaii and South San Francisco before settling in San Jose, California with their 5 children and then moved to Antioch, California where she lived for 15 years. She was diagnosed with Lewy Body Disease in September of 2014 and received care in Rancho Cordova before moving home to Georgetown, California.
Martha was a devout Christian who spent countless hours in prayer for anyone who needed it. Over the years she volunteered with the youth, homeless and women’s prison outreach programs. She was a sweet and gentle soul who enjoyed just being with her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard L. Stebbins and survived by her sister, Johnsie G. Lawhon, children; Donna J. Whiting, Micah L. Stebbins, Linda K. Robinson, David W. Stebbins and Melissa A. Greenfield, her 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
There will be a viewing on Thursday, May 11, 2017, at 12:00 p.m. with the memorial service to follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Darling Fischer Chapel of the Hills, 615 N. Santa Cruz Avenue in Los Gatos, California. A burial ceremony will be directly after the service at Los Gatos Memorial Park, 2255 Los Gatos-Almaden Road, in San Jose, California.
