Lorayne Mary Palermo was born and raised in Santa Clara Valley and lived through all the changes the “Valley of Heart’s Delight” experienced since the 1930s. She kept a piece of the Valley’s rural past in her heart by riding horses and staying close to the earth.
For many years she worked as an executive secretary for the City of San Jose’s convention center. She loved her horses, Lovey and Lacy, and continued to ride them at Garrod Farms well into her 70s. She loved dogs too, especially her Shih Tzu, Bitzy, and was a S.F. Giants fan.
She is survived by her three children, Patricia, Joseph, and Christopher, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
She now joins her husband of 49 years, Joseph Nick Palermo, within walking distance of the home in which she lived for 57 years, in one of the oldest parts of Los Gatos Memorial Park.
A short graveside service will be held at 1:00 Saturday, November 4th, 2017.
