Guy Richard Berry June 15, 1940 - November 18, 2017, Resident of San Jose.
Guy Berry left for heaven at 3:47 a.m., on Saturday, November 18th, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, November 21, 2017, The Church of Jesus Christ of LDS, 150 Bernal Road, interment following at the Oak Hill Memorial Cemetery on Curtner.
Guy was born on June 15, 1940, in San Francisco, CA, to Harold and Marguerite Witcher Berry. After graduating from high school in Alabama, he joined the Air Force where he worked on computers in Mississippi, Morocco, Germany and Texas.
After his discharge, Guy’s first job was with Xerox and then spent the next 20 years in marketing and sales for Fortune 500 companies Litton, IBM, Rolm, Dymo and others. He eventually migrated back to California and settled in the San Jose area where he discovered his love of the real estate business. Not only was he a successful real estate agent for 40 years, he loved teaching and became one of the leading trainers for legal and risk management issues where more than 15,000 agents/brokers have attended his classes. Due to his extensive real estate law knowledge, he was also sought after as an expert witness in real estate litigation handling more than 300 cases.
Some of his favorite things were spending time with family, country music, movies, his computer and iPhone, karaoke, hot dogs and especially Texas BBQ brisket. He is survived by his wife, Renee Machado Berry of San Jose; brother, Chris Smith of Fairhope, AL; sons/daughters, Blaine and Wandee Berry of Loveland, OH, Bruno and Nina Connelly of San Francisco; in-laws, Steve and Bonny Hodges, nieces/nephews, Chris Smith Jr., Ryan and Miriam Hodges, Katie and Keith Rhea; grandchildren, Taylor, Skylar, Lloyd, Waylon; grandnephews, Ethan, Charlie, and Caden; and a great-grandson, Jaxon.
